TGC Capital Partners invests in Tappin to take Norwegian event-tech global.

Strategic investment to support international expansion of Tappin’s all-in-one event platform - combining minority growth capital with embedded engineering and GTM operating capacity drawn from the Gateway Group bench.

OSLO, 24 September 2025 - TGC Capital Partners, the operator-led growth equity platform of the Gateway Group operating organisation, today announced a strategic investment in Tappin, the Norwegian event-tech company providing an all-in-one platform for virtual, hybrid, and in-person events. The investment combines minority growth capital with embedded engineering and GTM operating capacity, deployed alongside Tappin’s founding team on a written operating thesis.

About the investment

Tappin’s platform integrates registration, streaming, on-site engagement, and analytics into a single end-to-end product for event organisers. The Nordic event-tech ecosystem has produced one of the strongest concentrations of mature event-platform companies in Europe, and Tappin has built a category-defining product on the Nordic foundation. The TGC engagement is structured to take that foundation into new international markets, with deployed operating capacity working alongside the founders on the cross-border platform-extension workstream.

What the investment enables

  • Engineering depth. Embedded engineers from the Gateway Group bench accelerate Tappin’s platform development - the streaming-and-engagement layer, the analytics infrastructure, and the integration surface with adjacent event-management tooling.
  • International GTM cadence. Embedded GTM operators work alongside the Tappin commercial team on geographic expansion beyond the Nordic home market, with a structured weekly operating cadence focused on enterprise event-organiser accounts.
  • Cross-border operating posture. Governance specialists support the regulatory-readiness and procurement-hygiene scaffolding required for enterprise event-platform contracts across multiple European jurisdictions.

Comment

Alf Lande, Partner - Investment & Portfolio Affairs at TGC Capital Partners with primary coverage of the Nordic markets, said: “Tappin has all the structural ingredients for international scale - a category-leading product, a clear founder thesis, and the Nordic engineering depth that translates well into enterprise procurement elsewhere. The Gateway Group bench gives them the deployed engineering and GTM capacity to expand without rebuilding the operating layer from scratch.”
